UN Secretary-general Ban Ki-moon has extended his condolences over the deaths of the eight Chinese police officers in the Haiti earthquake.

In a message, Ban, expressed his profound condolences to all those who have been touched by the tragedy, including the families of the victims, friends, colleagues, the government AND the people of China. He says the UN will remember them and carry forward their noble work.
