2010-01-05 09:37 BJT

The heavy snow is wreaking havoc on road and air travel and disrupting people's daily lives.

A train running from Baotou in Inner Mongolia to Qingdao in east China's Shandong Province was stranded near Hohhot, capital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

15 carriages were covered in snow, leaving more than a thousand passengers stranded. Emergency authorities have so far been able to relocate 800 passengers.
