Premier Wen Jiabao answered questions relating to China's current economic situation and economic policy initiatives for 2010, among other topics.

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said, "As the Premier, I should be clear about the true situation to the people. It is my obligation. Meanwhile, I should bring them confidence and hope."

Premier Wen Jiabao said that thanks to the efforts made by all the people, China has stabilized its economic growth and employment, and maintained social stability.

But he warned that the economy in its present form remained unbalanced, uncoordinated and unsustainable. He noted that science and technology were key to China's economic development. He said China needs to step up its efforts to develop high-tech industries and resolve the structural problem of the economy.
