Macao to expand via sea reclamation

The State Council has approved a land expansion plan by the Macao Special Administrative Region through reclaiming parts of the sea.

Macao SAR's chief executive, Ho Hau-Wah, says Macao will use this opportunity to map out the city's new additions in a reasonable fashion. According to the plan, Macao will create an extra 360 hectares of land into the sea. The expansion will include construction of public buildings, facilities, greener areas , and more space for diverse industries.
