Special Report: World tackles A/H1N1 flu |

Taiwan also confirmed 160 pigs are infected with swine flu, the same A/H1N1 virus infecting humans. Hong Kong also reported two animals with the virus.

Taiwan's epidemic prevention department says the outbreak is at a pig factory in Taitong County, with more than three thousand pigs. Those infected displayed symptoms including coughing and diarrhea ten days ago. Most of them have recovered, with just ten pigs still sick. Since staff also had flu symptoms, the epidemic prevention department says its initial investigation shows humans may have infected the pigs.

Meanwhile, Hong Kong also says its pigs have been infected by human transmission. Experts say pork is safe to eat if it is fully cooked.
