Special Report: World tackles A/H1N1 flu |

The Ministry of Health says the Chinese mainland has reported over 14-thousand 500 cases of A/H1N1 flu. So far, no patients have died from the disease. The transportation system and village health officials are getting ready to counter potential outbreaks over the upcoming National Day holiday.

More and more people will be traveling as the Golden Week holiday approaches. And most of them are going by train. At Beijing's busiest train station, many passengers don't seem to be worried about the flu. However, station officials say they had better be careful.

Yao Hongren, official from Beijing West Railway Station, said, "The passengers are rather calm. So we are basically reminding them to take precautionary measures through the loudspeakers."

At Beijing Capital Airport, the tension caused by the flu has eased. Airport officials say they have discovered less flu cases in August and September than in previous months. As a result, the compulsory onboard body temperature check has been suspended. However, officials warn it's still too early for complacency.

Wang Tao, official of Beijing Capital Airport, said, "We're expecting large numbers of overseas visitors before and after the National Day holiday, and we will step up the flu prevention efforts."
