No students across the country are as excited about returning to school as those in the quake-hit areas in Sichuan province. Student in Wenchuan County will begin the new term in well-equipped brand new schools that were reconstructed after last year's massive earthquake.
At the newly built Wenchuan No.1 high school, students making final preparations for the opening of the new term. Third grader Tang Si said she never dreamed her new school would look like this.
Tang Si, student of Wenchuan No.1 High School, said, "There is even an indoor swimming pool. We can enjoy a better environment in the new school. We will study better here."
The Wenchuan earthquake destroyed many educational facilities. The newly-built Wenchuan No.1 high school is composed of three destroyed ones. 45-hundred students will study in the largest school that was rebuilt after the earthquake.
16 elementary and middle schools in Wenchuan County are also ready for the new term. More than 14 thousand students in Wenchuan will move into permanent schools on the first of September.
