A recent survey shows the global economic downturn has changed the attitude Chinese people have towards work.
The report was released by a leading market research company in China, Horizon Research. It says last year, urban workers paid more attention to the remuneration and welfare offered by employers. And less to work intensity, the environment and relationships. One fifth of employees in the survey said the economic downturn affected their lives by a considerable degree. A further 23 percent said their income didn't increase as expected.
The report concludes that Chinese people who had become accustomed to "growth", were likely to feel a sense of insecurity even if their income didn't decrease. Many employees said they dare not to complain about work stress, nor slack-off, or job-hop.
