Chinese President Hu Jintao and the country's top leadership on Saturday evening joined representatives of Beijing residents and the People's Liberation Army for a show celebrating the upcoming traditional Chinese New Year.

The annual performance was at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The show included singing, dancing, drama, and poetry.

With a theme of close army-civilian relations, the celebration showed a scene of soldiers and Chinese residents working in full cooperation to build a harmonious society.

The traditional Chinese New Year, or the Spring Festival, falls on February 14th this year. It is the year of tiger.
