Chinese vice premier arrives in Australia to enhance bilateral ties

Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang has arrived in Sydney for a three-day official visit at the invitation of the Australian government.

In a written statement upon his arrival, Li said as major countries in the Asia-Pacific region, China and Australia have extensive common interests in safeguarding and promoting peace and prosperity.

He hoped his visit will enhance mutual trust and deepen cooperation with the Australian side to seek further development of bilateral ties.

During his stay in Australia, Li will hold talks with Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and other leaders. He will also visit Canberra and Brisbane, and meet with the state leaders of New South Wales and Queensland.
