Special Report: Putin Visits China |
Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin is scheduled to arrive here in China on Monday for a 3-day visit. Premier Wen Jiabao and Putin will hold talks on ways to further strength bilateral ties. Russia's Ambassador to China, Sergei Razov, said the meeting will be meaningful for the development of the China and Russia's strategic cooperation.
During the 14th regular meeting between the two countries' prime ministers, Wen Jiabao and Vladimir Putin will discuss political, economic, science and technology and cultural issues.
Sergei Razov, Rissian Ambassador to China, said, "The two sides have signed agreements on long-term oil cooperation and pipeline construction. The two countries also have cooperation plans on gas supply, electricity transmission and nuclear facilities."
Razov said he believes such cooperation will push forward the two countries' strategic partnership of cooperation.
Sergei Razov said, "The two countries' relationship is based on political balance and cooperation with mutual benefit. We support each other on important issues. And our relationship is not against any other countries."
The two leaders will also attend a ceremony to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries and the closing of the year of Russian in China. Razov said cultural cooperation and exchange is not only in the interests of the people of the two countries, but also contributes to regional, as well as global peace and stability.
