October 1st is when Iran and UN Security Council members agreed to negotiate over Iran's nuclear program. Iran reiterated it would not negotiate over its "absolute nuclear rights", but is ready to remove existing international "concerns".
Five Permanent UN Security Council members along with Germany agreed to hold new talks. Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Hasan Qash-qavi says Iran has a new package of proposals. He says they are "comprehensive, all-encompassing and constructive", including global nuclear disarmament. But the five-page document made no mention of Tehran's suspected nuclear programme.
