October 1st, is the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. As a result a grand gathering will be held at Tian'anmen Square in central Beijing. Among the various activities, the most eye-catching is the military parade. Extensive training for the parade is now underway.

The parade includes navy, land and air forces. In addition reservists and students from military academies are also included. The speed of the parade is very strict. The exact pace of the first phalanx, is one hundred and sixteen steps per minute. Each step is 75 centimeters. Through training, every one will walk at this accurate pace. The commander of the Beijing PLA Garrison is proud.

Li Shaojun, commander of Beijing PLA Garrison, said, "Our parade has involvement from all Chinese forces. The training is scientific, the soldiers' life is regulated, and the parade will be first class."
