Iran's top nuclear negotiator says his country is ready to hold talks with six of the world's major powers over its nuclear program and has prepared a revised package of proposals. Saeed Jalili made the remarks Tuesday, a day before a scheduled meeting in Germany between the US, France, Britain, Russia, China and Germany. The six countries are trying to address concerns about Iran's nuclear programme.

Saeed Jalili, Iran's Top Nuclear Negotiator, said, "The package of Iran is updated and will be presented. Therefore we hope that a new round of talks begins so that a world full of progress, justice and a perfection of mankind can be created. "

The five permanent members of the UN Security Council, plus Germany offered Iran a modified package of economic incentives, June last year, in return for suspending its uranium enrichment activities. If not, Iran could face harsher sanctions. The US has given Iran till the end of September to accept an offer of nuclear talks.

Tehran, says its new proposals deal with political and economic issues as well as security and international affairs. And it comments that the incentives package from the six major powers has some "common ground" with Tehran's own proposals for a resolution to the standoff.
