Special Report: 2010 Boao Forum For Asia |
The Boao Forum for Asia has completed its annual conference in South China's Hainan province. The BFA's newly-elected secretary-general, Zhou Wenzhong, said China will work to make the forum a key voice of Asia on the international stage. Zhou, a veteran Chinese diplomat, said that for the first time, the BFA's board of directors have several members from other countries, including the former U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and former French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin.
Zhou said this has created conditions for the forum to be represented more globally. With the theme of a "Green Recovery: Asia's Realistic Choice for sustainable Growth," this year's event attracted about 2,000 political and business heavyweights and experts from Asia and around the world.
