Geely to sign Volvo deal with Ford

2010-03-23 14:31 BJT

Chinese automaker Zhejiang Geely says it expects to sign a deal to buy Ford's Volvo unit in about a week's time. Geely is China's largest private carmaker and the parent of Hong Kong-listed Geely Automobile. Media reports had suggested the company was facing financial and technical problems that could delay the transaction, worth up to 2 billion US dollars. But Geely says talks are moving as planned and a deal is expected by the end of the month.
