TOYOTA'S DEVELOPMENT IN CHINA

- Sep. 1964

Toyota exports its Crown model to China for the first time.

- Jul. 1980

The first Toyota Authorized Service System opens in Beijing. It's China's first customer service center built by a foreign auto maker.

- Oct. 1980

Toyota opens a representative office in Beijing.

- Dec. 1995

Tianjin Toyota Motor Engine Co., Ltd is established.

- Jun. 2000

Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd is established.

- Oct. 2002

The first unit of domestically-produced Vios is unveiled.

- May 2006

The first line of Chinese-made Camry models enters the market.

- Dec. 2009

Toyota's Corolla and Camry sells 157,500 units and 156,200 units in China, ranking 9th and 10th respectively among the country's best-selling cars.

- Feb. 2010

Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor recalls 75,552 RAV4 sport-utility vehicles in China due to a potential flaw with accelerator pedals.
