Job hopping was less during the last two years as the financial crisis swept over the country. But this year, many white collars workers are ready to take better offers.
Mr Liang has 30 years of experience as a professional manager in Guangdong province. Shortly after the Spring Festival Holiday, he moved back to his hometown, Nanning, to find a better job.
Mr Liang said, "Professional managers coming from the Pearl River Delta Region have quite a lot of advantages in job hopping."
As a Guangxi native, Mr Liang has been paying close attention to the development of the Zhuang Autonomous Region, especially after the China-ASEAN Expo chose Nanning, the region's capital, as its permanent host city. He set his mind on returning upon hearing the news about the establishment of China-ASEAN free trade area. However, the job hopping didn't go quite well.
Mr Liang said, "The development of Guangxi enterprises are still behind that of its coastal peers. The key factor lays in conception."
The difficulties faced by Mr Liang are a quite common issue for white collar employees when searching jobs. A better salary, or a job to improve self-value, or some other reasons could make them join the hunt. As for employers, many companies held back annual bonus as a way to keep their employers from changing jobs.
Experts suggest that career building and future advancement should be weighed more when thinking about job hopping.
