Let's get more figures from the China Index Academy, the supply of land across the country hit 7.5 million square meters for the week ending Sunday January the 17th. That's up 22 percent from the same period last year. About half of that amount went to build residential units.
Of all first-tier cities, only Beijing saw trade in land for residential use. Dalian topped the list for smaller cities, with transactions of 9 parcels of land for residential use during the same period. Across the country, average land prices hit 2,382 yuan per square meter for the second week of the year, down 51 percent from the same period in December 09.
