Google to post new book list

Internet search engine giant Google is all set to held a fourth round of talks with the China Written Works Copyright Society this afternoon. A news conference will follow.

Reports suggest that Google will hand in an updated list of Chinese books scanned earlier into its digital library. It's expected to include even more books than the 80,000 works submitted by Google last month. The China Written Works Copyright Society says it's not just authors who've had their work scanned without permission, but also journalists and government officials.

Zhang Hongbo, deputy director general of China Writing Works Copyright Society, said, "The list Google provided in December does not have a consistent system that allows for comprehensive search. We are asking for a new list, which should include between 100,000 and 200,000 books."
