As we mentioned, Wen Jiabao took the chance to answer public queries about housing prices in that interview.

He said the central government was paying close attention to rapid rises in some cities this year. Wen Jiabao said regulations will be tightened to maintain greater order in the sector including a crack down on both land hoarding and a delay of sales, tactics often used by developers to drive up prices.

Premier Wen said he believed stable development in the property was possible as long as the government was determined to tackle existing problems.
