There will be three types of franchising outlets available for applicants. Each type is designed to meet a specific consumer group. Applicants must have a minimum registered capital of 500,000 yuan, and no less than two years of experiences in business operation and management. Qualified candidates will be allowed to sell licensed 2010 World Expo goods from May 1st to October 31st 2010 at designated locations in the Exhibition Park.

Lin Shengyong, Commercial Management of Shanghai World Expo said "The daily leasing fees for a franchise store is 20 yuan per square meter. The fees for catering firms is 18 yuan per square meter. We believe it is more profitable to invest in our stores than investing in some downtown business districts. "

Licensed 2010 World Expo products are divided into 26 categories, including glassware, bags and suitcases, toys, gifts, clothing, stationary, and stamp collections. No financial support from the central budget is being given for the event. The event organizer only wants to break even on all its investments. The Expo has set a goal of selling 20 billion yuan worth of licensed goods.
