UN, China discuss low-carbon economy

Special Report: UN climate change conference in Copenhagen |

UN officials and experts have praised China's political and economic shift towards a low-carbon model of growth.

While the Chinese delegation at the conference says it's a challenge to find a development model that supports economic growth, but is not at the expense of social development. One delegate said more Chinese people need to realize the importance of moving away from traditional development models. While a representative for the United Nations says cooperation has been satisfactory with China on the issue of climate change, adding that both sides will work on improving this in the future.
