Close to 9.5 million new jobs were created in the first ten months of the year. These latest figures from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security show job-creation staying well ahead of the target of 9 million for the entire year.

Zhang Shengping graduated from Tongji University with a major in subway train design. He found a job soon after leaving school.

Zhang Shengping, Fresh Graduate said "Since I started looking for a job this year, I've discovered that the country has devoted great efforts to the subway sector. Some big cities and medium-sized cities have created plenty of job opportunities."

With the economic rebound, the demand for migrant workers is also increasing. Usually, the busiest time for hiring workers is after the Spring Festival. But this year, the hiring began in advance in Quanzhou, Fujian province.

Gangsheng Garments, an export-oriented textile company, is short of workers because of the sudden rise in orders from European, American and South-east Asian markets.

Gong Xiongying, Manager of Human Resources Department, Gangsheng Garments said "Compared with last year, the number of employees has fallen by 30 percent. We are short of workers."

According to figures from local labor and social security bureaus, companies in Quanzhou city are roughly short of 50-thousand workers.

Latest figures from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security show that the number of people re-employed reached 44 million, nearly 90 percent of the target. Local governments used various measures to help 1.34 million people find employment. The recently held Central Economic Work Conference has set clear assignments for next year's employment. The conference says the country must adopt a more active employment policy, boost employment growth by all means and ensure employment trends remain stable.
