APEC CEO Summit opens

The APEC CEO Summit 2009 has opened in Singapore, with more than 1,000 of the world's top business leaders gathering to meet with APEC economic leaders.

Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong delivered the keynote address. He called for stabilizing the economy and maintaining confidence as the global economy emerges from the crisis.

Now in its 14th year, the annual APEC CEO Summit is the biggest event of the business community of the region. This year's theme is "Rebuilding the Global Economy: Crisis and Opportunity".
