Shanghai Expo mobile phone tickets launched

Tuesday saw 2010 Shanghai World Expo organizers and China Mobile jointly launch a mobile phone ticket promotion for the event. This is a first in World Expo history.

Tuesday saw 2010 Shanghai World Expo organizers and China Mobile jointly launch a mobile phone ticket promotion for the event.

China Mobile, the country's largest wireless operator, is encrypting ticket information into its SIM cards. Subscribers may then purchase tickets through their mobile phones. They can gain entry into the World Expo and make purchases there through their phones.

China Mobile says the tickets will be sold starting at the beginning of next month at outlets in 10 municipalities and provinces, as well as its 12580 sales line.
