Preparation for 6th China-ASEAN Expo underway

The sixth China-ASEAN expo will be held in Nanning, southern China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Preparations are well underway. Temporary direct flights to major cities in the ASEAN countries will be operated. As CCTV reporter finds out, the expo will also hire volunteers to help out during the event.

Direct flights on 11 routes will be running during the upcoming expo, linking Nanning and major cities in ASEAN countries including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore. Airlines have been invited to bid to operate the flights.

In addition, the expo plans to hire 1200 volunteers. Over the past month, more than 20 thousand people have applied. To find suitable talents, expo organizers have set up a database to record the applications.

Liu Zhijie, Vice Secretary-General, China-ASEAN Expo said "We put basic information about the applicants into the database, including their major, school, talent. It will be useful information for the upcoming expo, as well as for other large events."

Continuing the momentum of the past five events, this year's is even bigger with 4000 booths, 600 more than the last one. Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Burma, Thailand and Vietnam will have their own booths.

This year's expo will feature two new subjects. Agriculture will be a major theme covering 600 booths. Financial services will be another topic.

The event will be held in Nanning between October 20th and the 24th.
