China is reversing the flow of investment capital. In 2008, China's net direct overseas investments reached nearly 56 billion US dollars. The amount invested elsewhere is almost double that of 2007.
The numbers were jointly released by the Ministry of Commerce, the National Bureau of Statistics and The State Administration of Foreign Exchange.
Figures also show that over the past 6 years, the annual growth rate of the investment was averaged at 65.7 percent. Over 8,500 Chinese institutions invested overseas last year. Their investments covered 174 regions and nations worldwide. Most of the funds went to Asian and European companies.
