Thanks in part to the pre-holiday shopping mood, online retailers have seen strong sales in September, boosting their earnings to double that of the same period last year.

With orders flooding in nearly every second, this Shopping web-site in Beijing is having a great September.

Xu Lei, Vice President of 360buy.com said "From September 1st to now, our sales have tripled compared to the same period last year. "

He believes the upcoming National Day Holiday is providing a boost for this unexpected booming business.

Xu Lei said "We found that most sales come from digital cameras, higher-end DSLR cameras, digital video cameras, batteries, and navigation systems. I think these purchases are for vacations during the holiday."

Online clothing and furniture retail web sites have also witnessed soaring business in September.

Chen Nian, CEO of Vancl.com said "The change is unexpected. Previous expectations was 100 percent growth compared to a year ago, however, the growth has exceeded 200 percent. It's incredible."

Industry insiders say the increasing popularity of online shopping is another factor in growing sales. China's online shopping market continues to expand, with more consumers accepting the idea of e-commerce for their spending needs.
