Boeing: Global aviation industry to turnaround

2009-09-10 11:11 BJT

A senior executive at Boeing predicts global aviation businesses will recover before 2011.

Boeing believes the year 2010 will be a turning point for global economic recovery. Air passenger numbers are expected to rise in the second half of 2009 but are likely to still drop by around 7 percentage points on the year as a whole.

Rebound markets in China and Latin America are being seen as signs the global aviation market is about to make a turnaround.

Some believe that in the long run, the Asian market will replace the North American one to become the largest aviation market in the world.
