Premier Wen Jiabao has met with the visiting World Bank President, Robert Zoellick. Wen Jiabao said China's economy is at a crucial stage in its recovery, and stressed that the government will make no change to the direction of its policies.

The government will continue its proactive fiscal policy and moderately loose monetary policy. Wen Jiabao says the international community should pay special attention to the difficulties of developing countries, especially the most underdeveloped, and help them by opening up markets and transferring technology. He says China is willing to work with the World Bank to contribute to global sustainable development.

Zoellick said the World Bank also wants to strengthen cooperation with China, both in climate change, and in reforming international financial institutions.
