Government delegation visits Lhasa

A delegation sent by the Chinese central government is visiting Lhasa, capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region. The delegation is there to attend the celebrations marking the 40th anniversary of the founding of the autonomous region.
China's top political advisor Jia Qinglin visited Pag-balha Geleg Nam-gyai, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairman of the Tibetan CPPCC committee. Jia inquired about Pag-balha's health and living conditions, and commended his efforts in opposing separatism, maintaining national unification and promoting ethnic solidarity. Jia said he hoped Pag-balha would continue to unite the local people and contribute to Tibet's development and prosperity.
