On June 10, Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a speech, "Upholding the 'Shanghai Spirit' and building a community with a shared future" at the SCO Qingdao Summit, offering Beijing's proposal and initiative for building a community with a shared future for the SCO, injecting a strong new China's impetus for the organization to achieve a new leap from a new starting point.
The "Shanghai Spirit" is the banner of the SCO to maintain healthy and stable development for the organization. Xi put forward concepts on the development, security, cooperation, civilization and global governance, injected new connotations for the "Shanghai Spirit," to enhance international relations and regional cooperation.
Xi put forward a five-point proposal on building a community with a shared future, covering top-level designs, concrete targets, and feasible arrangements, indicating a path for safeguarding the SCO's leading role.
Unite powers from all parts on the Yellow Sea coast. The SCO Qingdao Summit has garnered fruitful results, serving as a milestone. The SCO has launched a new course from Qingdao, and will continue to hold the banner of the "Shanghai spirit" and to write new chapters for building a community with a shared future.
