On March 5, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee joined a panel discussion with deputies from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, at the first Session of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC), China’s top legislature.
Xi illustrated the "three solids" to inspire the people of all ethnic groups in Inner Mongolia to promote high-quality economic growth in a down-to-earth manner, to accelerate poverty alleviation, to enhance the solidarity of ethnic groups and stability of frontier areas, so as to create a more beautiful landscape in the country’s north frontier.
Xi was elected as a 13th NPC deputy from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. He joined the panel discussion of the regional delegation and gave his advice on the future development in Inner Mongolia. He said, the CPC Central Committee attaches great importance to the production and living conditions of ethnic groups, which reflects the determination of the CPC Central Committee to speed up the high-quality development in the ethnic border areas and to succeed in the poverty alleviation fight on schedule.
Ethnic unity is of great significance to the nation's stability. All ethnic groups and families should be included in the process of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects. The better development of Inner Mongolia is crucial for the unity of ethnic groups and stability of the frontier regions. It is also imperative to implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the19th CPC National Congress.
Xi highlighted three major tasks, including high-quality development, poverty alleviation and national unity, which are suitable for local conditions and tailored to a transition of local economy from rapid growth to high-quality growth, charting the direction for spurring the economic and social development to a new level in the frontier region.
The new chapter is full of new hard work. Under Xi's guidance, it is necessary to cast a solid awareness of a community with a shared future for the Chinese nation, and build a modern economic system to achieve high-quality growth. Ethnic groups should have concerns for each other, work together, and jointly guard the frontiers and create a better life, as well as to share the new prosperity of the great country.
