The Communist Party of China (CPC) opened its 19th National Congress at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, capital of China, October 18, 2017.
On behalf of the 18th Central Committee of the CPC, Xi Jinping delivered a report at the opening session.
He summarized the great achievements that the country has made in the opening-up and modernization construction over the past five years, pointing out Socialism with Chinese Characteristics has entered a new era and said the principal contradictions facing Chinese society has evolved.
He then expounded on the Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and answered questions of theoretical and practical importance that concern the long term development of the Party and nation.
He also advanced to a series of new plans, decisions and strategies on finishing the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects at the decisive stage and embarking on a new journey of building socialist modernization in all respects.
Xi's report, which serves as a political declaration and guideline of action for the new era, which is a magnificent Marxist document, charting the course for all Party members and Chinese people to work tirelessly to realize the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation.
The report is of great momentum and inspiring, and gives direction for the Party and the people to work jointly for a better future. It can be regarded as a milestone in the history of the CPC.
Encouraged by bright prospects, Chinese people are confident to make even greater progress for our epoch and for the history under the guidance of the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress, especially Xi's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
