Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival of 2017 falls on October 4, which is the second most important festival in the country after Chinese New Year. Since 2008, the Mid-Autumn Festival has been a 3-day public holiday in mainland China. In 2017, the holiday will be on October 1–8, combining the National Day holiday and three weekend days.

The festival means family reunion and peace. It is also called "the moon festival," since it is celebrated when the moon is believed to be at the biggest and fullest.

The traditional ways to celebrate would include eating dinner with family, hanging lanterns, guessing lantern riddles, and worshiping the moon.

Mooncakes are the must-eat food for the holiday. They are a kind of traditional Chinese pastry. The roundness of mooncakes is a symbol of reunion and happiness.

In the video produced by Panview and ABC Cooking Studio, we can see how to make a traditional Chinese moon cake step by step! You can buy all the ingredients needed in the Chinese market. It’s easy to make and delicious to taste!
