The world is entering a special "moment of China" as the 9th BRICS summit is held from Sept.3 to 5, 2017 in Xiamen, a beautiful seaside city of southeastern China. Chinese President Xi Jinping will chair the summit, discussing major issues on future cooperation and development with BRICS leaders.
The summit, believed to be another success following "Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF)" held by China this year, marks a major achievement in "home field" diplomacy.
Themed "BRICS: Stronger Partnership for a Brighter Future", the Xiamen summit signifies the start of the second decade for BRICS cooperation mechanism. As host, China seeks to usher the BRICS grouping into another golden ten-year with a solid foundation of joint efforts, louder voice on the international stage, firmer social basis, more extensive partnerships and better mechanism construction.
Meetings of BRICS leaders, the largest BRICS Business Forum, the Dialogue of Emerging Markets and Developing Countries, Cultural Festival and Photo Exhibition and other activities are scheduled during the summit.
In the beautiful city of Xiamen, China stands ready to present a fruitful summit for the five BRICS countries, along with the whole world.
