The Lu-Family Residence, equally famous with the Palace Museum, exhibits the essence of ancient Chinese woodcarvings and nourishes the wood-caving skills of generations among craftsmen in the southern China.

As the hometown of “woodwork” in China, Dongyang, Zhejiang province, sees the classic woodcarving works everywhere. The modern works done by the old artisans and the ancient techniques inherited by the young artisans have enabled different designs of Chinese woodcarving works, through the handicraft of Dongyang craftsmen, to come into modern life.
