On June 21-23, Chinese President Xi Jinping paid an inspection tour in Shanxi province. He learned about current economic and social development conditions and how local cadres carry out plans proposed at the 6th Plenary Session of the 18th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.
 
Xi visited villages, enterprises and listened to work reports. He required the local government to explore methods of economic transformation and development for resource-based regions, such as Shanxi Province.
 
He also offered other requirements, including to solve problems concerning agriculture, rural areas and farmers, to make overall plans about protection and improvement of people's livelihoods, to adhere to green development and to carry out strict principles for Party governance and regulations.
 
The key remarks highlighted current difficulties and directions of seeking breakthroughs, as well as reflecting on long-term prospects based on current conditions in Shanxi, building confidence and inserting momentum for reform and development in Shanxi, and for the whole country.
 
To hold the 19th CPC National Congress is a major event for the Party and the nation this year. Looking back at the past five years, guided by strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee, with hard work conducted by the whole Party and peoples of the whole country, the 'Chinese Dream' of national rejuvenation is coming true.
 
Opening up a new journey for the national rejuvenation requires Chinese people, especially party members, to rally around the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi at the core, and to put together all the efforts and forces to work pragmatically and strive for concrete achievements.
 
Party organizations at all levels should make tremendous efforts to transform the achievements of the Party's political life into a sustained impetus to promote development of the Party. Making joint efforts to promote the Party's construction and Party’s development would offer a sound environment for holding the 19th CPC National Congress.
