This is Song Brocade of Suzhou. Its history dates back to 2,500 years. It's one of the three most celebrated brocade styles in China. The other two are the Yun Brocade of Nanjing and Shu Brodace of Sichuan. Its production involves more than 20 procedures, including filature, dyeing and weaving. Song Brodace is famous for its bright color, exquisite patterns, and solid but soft texture. The material can be used to make royal clothes, mount scrolled paintings and calligraphic works.
