Editor's note: In a previous series of interviews with several Ambassadors here in Beijing, CCTV.com also invited them to talk about the Belt and Road Initiative and share their insights.

In today’s episode, the CCTV.com Panview team features an interview with the Belgium Ambassador to China Michel Malherbe. He talks about how China and Belgium endorse free trade and inclusive globalism, which will be further enhanced by the New Silk Road.

Brussels is not only the capital city of the nation of Belgium but the center of the European Union. Brussels welcomes China’s Belt & Road Initiative, which would expand infrastructure building in the EU, including railways that connect the Port of Antwerp with China.

The Belgium ambassador believes the B&R Initiative could join forces with the Juncker Plan, which focuses on infrastructure construction within the EU, to develop more cooperation opportunities for both sides.

Ambassador Malherbe also highlighted how many Belgium companies are "eager to participate" in the upcoming Belt and Road forum in Beijing, as they seek to invest and trade more in China.

He explains this and more.
