China's preparations for a satellite launch in June are moving forward. The Long March-5 Y2 carrier rocket has arrived at Wenchang launch base in the southernmost province of Hainan.
The launch vehicle departed from the northern port city of Tianjin a week ago. It sailed nearly 17-hundred nautical miles to Wenchang. The rocket will be used to launch the domestically-made Shijian-18 communication satellite in June.
The Long March-5 made its inaugural flight last November. And just over a week ago, Wenchang witnessed the launch of China's first cargo spacecraft, the Tianzhou-1.
