China has reiterated its opposition to conflict on the Korean Peninsula. Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang said all parties should work together to maintain peace and stability in the region.
"China's consistent stance is the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula to maintain peace and stability in the region. The only way to achieve it is through peaceful means like dialogue and negotiation," he said.
"China's proposed approach to denuclearizing the peninsula, and the 'double suspension' initiative both take into account the complicated situation on the peninsula. These methods are drawn up to ease tensions in the region and bring all sides back to the negotiating table."
