More than 21,000 runners competed in the Beijing Half Marathon on Sunday.
Flagging off at Tiananmen Square, the 21-kilometer route led to the northern part of the Chinese capital with landmark buildings and scenic sites along it. Runners were from 23 countries and regions.
The family-friendly version of the run saw the participation of 300 families, with the course stretching over 400 meters around the starting point.
In the men's competition, Philip Kimaiyo from Kenya proved fastest completing the route in 1 hour, 11 minutes and 22 seconds ... while Tanzania's Sisilia Ginoka won the women's race in 1 hour, 15 minutes and 21 seconds.
