The DPRK has recently conducted several engine tests for its ballistic missile technology. And now a US Navy strike group is headed toward the peninsula. China has responded by saying it hopes all parties remain calm and observe restraint.
"In the first meeting of Chinese and American presidents at Mar-a-Lago, the two sides confirmed the Korean Peninsula should be denuclearized, stayed committed to exercising UN sanctions imposed on the DPRK, and agreed to maintain close communication and coordination on the peninsula issue. China insists on the denuclearization of the peninsula, on the peace and stability of the peninsula, and on solving its issues through dialogue and negotiation. China further introduced its approaches of a 'dual track process' and 'dual suspension'," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said.
