China has sent its special representative on Korean Peninsula affairs, Wu Dawei, to Seoul. The envoy arrived there on Monday.
Wu has met with his South Korean counterpart to discuss ways to peacefully resolve the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue. The meeting between the two sides is the first since talks in Beijing last December. And it comes as the USS Carl Vinson Strike Group sails towards the Korean Peninsula.
The US Navy group is named after its flagship, the nuclear-powered supercarrier USS Carl Vinson.
