Carrie Lam, the chief executive-elect of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, left Hong Kong this afternoon for an official visit to Beijing. The trip is expected to last until Wednesday. And she is set to receive her formal appointment by the Chinese State Council during her stay.
It's her first official trip to Beijing since the March 26 election, where Lam won a majority of the 12-hundred votes to become the Hong Kong SAR's first female chief executive.
