Earth Hour Initiative, a program launched by the WWF - World Wildlife Fund - in 2005. The initiative takes place on the last Saturday of March every year. This Saturday is the 10th anniversary of the global demonstration which looks to fight climate change.

In China, this year's Earth Hour will start at 8:30 PM local time until 9:30 PM. Some of the most popular digital platforms throughout China are set to take part in the program. Last year, millions around the world across 178 countries came together to show support for protecting our  planet.

CGTN interviewed one renowned Chinese actress, Li Bingbing, working as an Earth Hour Global Ambassador and got her views. 

"Living on this beautiful earth is privilege and also responsibility. The earth is our motherland for everyone, we also should cherish our motherland and when my nephew was born, I cared about him. I care about what he is drinking, breathing and eating. So I press forward and encourage our nation to take their responsibility for future generations," she said.
