China has launched an "Ice Hockey Plan for 2022" to boost the development of the sport.

HC Kunlun Red Star Club, which belongs to the KHL Kontinental Hockey League, will assist three national youth teams. The club will draw up a series of training programs. It will also provide support to monitor the athletes' diet and physical condition.

The goal is to set up an effective development system, which could help fill the pool for the 2022 Winter Olympics. Beijing and Zhangjiakou won the bid to co-host the Games in July 2015. And that sparked the winter sports boom in China's sports community.
