Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has said both China and Saudi Arabia have agreed to establish mutually-beneficial international relations, while sticking to a policy of 'non-interference' in each other's internal affairs. Moreover, he said they both wanted to see critical global and regional issues resolved through negotiation and dialogue.
Wang also pointed out that both countries are promoting multiple cooperative projects, in areas such as infrastructure, trade and investment, nuclear, energy and space science. As an old friend of the Middle East, Wang said China is ready to play the role of a driver of peace in the region, while the Belt & Road initiative should be instrumental in this.
